Josh Boynton

Founder/Head Coach

Josh tried CrossFit for the first time in graduate school when a friend invited him to work out. It was a total change from the typical gym routine he was accustomed to. He loved the competition and variety that CrossFit offers and he’s been hooked ever since. CrossFit changed not only his body, but also his mindset and approach to life. ​ As a physical therapist, Josh uses a unique approach to coaching which incorporates all areas of his experience and education. Josh’s ultimate goal is to help people reach their potential and live a life that is full and complete through fitness. ​

Camille Kurtz

Coach/Kid's Program Director

Camille started working out at Backward Arrow Modern Fitness in the fall of 2016. Since that time, she has grown in many ways!

As she became more involved in the community, she discovered that she wanted to help kids to discover how fun and exciting exercise could be and how it could improve their lives.

Since she has become a coach at BAMF, her passion for training kids has grown even more. She has been able to train and positively influence the lives of many kids and continues to have the fire and passion to continue doing so to this day!

When she is not coaching our kid’s class, Camille is a NICU nurse at Hendrick Medical Center (she does love kids!). There, her passion to help babies to get healthy and go home is on display regularly.

Thomas Curry


Thomas started ​working out at BAMF in the fall of 2016. During that time, Thomas was a different person. He was overweight, unhappy and unhealthy in many areas of his life.

That is not at all how you would describe him today! He has changed drastically and now has the passion and desire to help others to change and meet their goals!

Since becoming a coach at BAMF, he has helped numerous people to reach their goals, whatever they may be! As a leader in this community he is the biggest and most constant encouragement you may find in our walls!

Thomas specializes in helping you to get the most out of your workouts to help you to reach your goals. He can always be found making recommendations to make yourself better and more efficient.

Thomas coaches our 5:30 a.m. class and is the BEST way to start your day!

Tara Curry


Tara started at Backward Arrow Modern Fitness before it was even a gym! She started working out in Josh’s garage intermittently. She learned a lot and quickly started to see results that she had never dreamed of.

Fast forward to today, Tara rarely misses a workout and is frequently shouting the loudest for her community members to finish workouts in the best way possible.

Tara has a passion for nutrition! She has changed her own life through the power of healthy nutrition. Her primary goal is to help you to improve your own well-being with healthy nutrition and lifestyle habits.

Carley Willis


Carley started at Backward Arrow Modern Fitness in the fall of 2018. She was a student in Physician’s Assistant school at Hardin-Simmons University. ​

Carley also played softball at Hardin-Simmons and needed a way to stay fit after her playing days were over. She has flourished in her own fitness and been able to continue to feed her competitive side while competing in local CrossFit competitions.

Carley is a PA at a local neurosurgeon’s office! She has an interesting perspective on spine care and exercise!

Carley has shown that she has a desire to help others to flourish as she has at BAMF. She helps to coach classes as needed to allow other BAMF coaches to refresh and refill at times when they need a rest.

Jake Jennings


Jake has been at BAMF since the beginning of 2019. He started in our “Newbie” class, learning the basics of the movements that we do. His main goal was to improve in tennis. He was an avid player and was looking to improve his abilities.

Since that time, Jake has thrived. Not only was he able to improve his tennis craft, but he was able to build strength, endurance, and connections to others that run very deep.

Because of this, we had no choice but to thrust him into a leadership position in BAMF and he has thrived there as well! He has led many athletes to better themselves, improve their strength, endurance and their lives.

Jake continues to make deep connections with his athletes and and we are so honored that he serves our community at BAMF.

Darryl Fox


Darryl has been a member of BAMF since late 2019. When he started, he was a very scrawny person and his main goal was to get stronger.

He has done that in so many ways! Darryl has improved his strength numbers significantly, but he has also improved his mental strength as well! Watching him grow inspired so many of our athletes and we just had to have him as a coach!

Darryl continues to work on his strength and even works hard to challenge himself in local CrossFit competitions, where he is competing along with some of the athletes that he coaches! He does his best and inspires his athletes with his amazing effort!

Darryl can be found coaching our 4:30 p.m. class daily. He is an amazing coach and continually blesses our community!
